Below are pictures and videos of blockouts that I made during blocktober 2025. These are a mix from the Design Den blocktober event and personal projects.
Cyberpunk Street
For the level below, I was asked by a friend to create a blockout for his wife who is an environment artist trying to break into the industry. She wanted a small level with design intention to create a portfolio piece based on a whitebox from a level designer. The level is supposed to be a small exploration beat where the player has to get to a shrine on the second floor. This was a lot to fun to work on and I'm excited for how she arts it in the future.

Dark Secret
For the level below, I wanted to do piece that showed a juxtaposition of a bright beautiful day in a city, but beneath the surface is a dark secret. I wanted it to feel eerie and unsettling as you go deeper into the level and make people wonder what will happen if I go through the tunnel. This was made in 4 hours during the Design Den Blocktober Jam.

Upside Down
For the level below, when I heard the Upside Down theme, I wanted to make something that felt alien and abnormal. It started off in the desert but evolved into an enclosed space because I wanted to have something illuminating the space to have sense of wonder. This piece was made in a span of 2-3 hours with iteration.
